It’s only been a matter of weeks since the whole country, in fact almost the entire world, celebrated that very special day for the UK, the wedding of  the future king, Prince William, to his beautiful bride, Catherine Middleton or, as she is now known, of course, the Duchess of Cambridge.

People will have their own personal memories of that truly special day, but they can also have a permanent reminder by buying one of the many Royal Wedding memorabilia items that were made to commemorate the occasion. Such items will have been available long before the wedding, with some producers making them even before the engagement was announced, and there are plenty of items to choose from. Some are traditional and made to be handed down from generation to generation – items like decorated china and porcelain plates, cups, thimbles, and so on, some of which will have been manufactured in a limited edition range, becoming more valuable as time goes by,  while others are less extravagant; things like  teatowels, posters, and placemats. Most of the items will carry an illustration of the couple, perhaps, or just their names alongside the date of the wedding; some designs will include the royal coat of arms, too.

Amongst  the various items available, there will be something to suit every pocket, so even those on limited budgets will be able to buy something to keep as a reminder. A little coaster will cost just a pound or two, while a limited edition plate, say, will cost a lot more.  Some of the more expensive items will have been made in the same design and style as those that were made for previous royal occasions, forming part of a growing collection that can be added to with each new special occasion. What they will all have in common is that they will be a long-lasting reminder of the day, something to treasure at the time, to look at in later years, and to hand down to future generations.
